Traveler of the Month - July 2011

When RN Deedie W. goes to work, she takes along someone special to both her and her patients – her faithful canine companion, “Lil’ Man.” As the 360 Healthcare Staffing July traveler of the month, Deedie is dedicated to providing the best care possible to her patients. By including her furry friend on her visits, she is helping to care for patients in another way.

“The rewarding part of having Lil’ Man with me is seeing the smiles on patients’ faces,” says Deedie. “They just light up when they see him coming down the hall, and they come looking for him almost as soon as I get to work. My patients love petting and holding him.”

Besides the bonus of having Lil’ Man join her on assignments, Deedie enjoys other aspects of her position with 360 Healthcare. “I really enjoy meeting new people and hearing their stories,” Deedie says. “I’m always up for a new adventure, and as a 360 traveler, I have the opportunity to visit places I otherwise might not experience. It’s so interesting to see how facilities can differ from one to the next, yet still have similarities.”

When asked what qualities are needed as a traveler for 360 Healthcare Staffing, Deedie says dedication, consistency and the ability to lead by example are essential to a successful and rewarding career.
