We are conducting a nationwide search for an experienced VP of Clinical Services. As the VP of Clinical Services you will be responsible for overseeing 29 Skilled Nursing Facilities providing strong leadership working with the Regional Directors and Regional Nurses. This position will ensure the highest level of quality care, provide guidance on education programs, survey preparation, and policies and procedures. Our nation-wide search will select a candidate with at least ten+ years of clinical management and health operations experience including program development and previous Skill Nursing experience. A minimum of a BSN degree is required, MSN or MHA is preferred.
VP of Clinical Services – Senior Nursing Leader
Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Senior Nursing Leader will provide strong leadership that creates and sustains clinical excellence, and will influence and guide the clinical operations with forward thinking in terms of service development within an ever-changing healthcare marketplace. Working effectively through / with the Regional Directors and Regional Nurses, the position will ensure a high level of quality care, effective services and innovative programming which meets or exceeds standards and goals while meeting the mission, vision and core values of the organization.
Functions & Responsibilities:
Infrastructure and Operations: Sets clinical policy and protocols, designs high quality programming and ensures the delivery oservices and initiatives, while managing for current and future growth. Responsible for allocation of clinical resources to meet the needs of the overall business plan.
Resident and Family Relations: Ensures a high standard of compassionate, person-centered care for residents and fosters proactive communication with responsible parties and family members.
Census: Identifies growth areas under the direction of the COO such as the effective utilization of NPs and leads these targeted strategic efforts or targeted clinical areas i.e., wound care, etc.
Staff Development: Provides guidance and supervision to the Clinical staff and fosters professional development as well other direct reports. Assures that all necessary systems, policies and procedures are in place to allow optimal functioning in the development of all staff that provide patient care. Develops and oversees all Clinical Training Programs.
Regulatory Compliance: Maintains a thorough knowledge of federal, state and local legislation and regulatory requirements. Maintains compliance at all times. Interfaces with the company’s Legal group seeking guidance as appropriate.
Program Development: Ensures that all clinical programs are relevant, engaging and congruent with organization goals, mission and vision.
Industry Relations: Participates in Industry committees, panels and projects supporting the holistic wellness of older adults and those who care for them.
Executive Leadership Team: As a member of senior leadership, participates in discussions and contributes to key issues facing the organization ensuring solutions are attained from a clinical programming perspective.
- Current RN license.
- Minimum of a BSN degree. Advanced degree of MSN or MHA preferred.
- Ten to fifteen years of senior level clinical management and healthcare operations experience with previous SNF experience.
- Effective interpersonal skills and the ability to work with interdisciplinary care team, residents, and family members.
- Extensive knowledge of regulations.
- Capable of exploring new methods and principles to incorporate them into current nursing practices.
- Working knowledge of survey and plan correction process.
- Some travel required including overnight.

Expected Salary — $150,000 – $175,000
